THE BLIND GIRL
There was once a blind girl who hated herself for no other reason except the fact that she was blind.
She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend, for he was always there for her.
She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind.
Not wanting to be burdened by a 'blind' person, she refused to marry him. Her loving, devoted and understanding boyfriend walked away in tears and his heart was obviously broken.
The girl who had been so fortunate to have the world and all of its colors opened up to her, continued to enjoy it.
Day in and day out she never missed a single pleasure life had to offer.
One day she received a letter from her ex-boy friend which stated simply.......
"I sincerely hope you enjoy your life, for your happiness was all that ever mattered to me.
I am so happy that you are enjoying life as I always hoped you would.
Therefore, I would like to ask one parting favor of you my dear, just take care of my eyes."
The moral of this story is life here on this earth is a gift from God and His Son, Jesus.
Today, before you think of saying an unkind word to someone who can't speak, be glad that you can speak up for yourself.
Before you complain about the taste of your food you are eating, think of the person who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife, think of the person who is lonely and is crying out to God for a companion to love.
Today, before you complain about your life, think about the person who died at an early age and never got to experience what you have seen.
Before you complain about your children, think about the person who can have no children because they are barren.
Before you argue to your loved ones about your dirty house, think about the people who are living in the streets without a house.
Before whining about the distance you drive each day to work, think about the person who has to walk the same distance to work, but does not have a car.
Before you complain about the job you have, think about the unemployed and disabled people who wish they had your job.
Before you think of pointing a finger at someone or condemning another person, remember that not one of us is without sin before God. We will all answer to one Maker soon.
When depressing thoughts begin to get you down, put a smile on your face and thank God for allowing you to live, breathe, and enjoy the life you have.
For we must remember life is a gift from God and we must thank Him for it everyday.
Therefore, live your life, enjoy it, celebrate it, and appreciate it.
