We are Here to Worship You and Praise You and Tell Others About You and Your Son, Jesus.
Dear Father God,
It is all about you, My Lord. This life is all about you. This life is about recognizing and realizing that
it is your handiwork that put this earthen world together and that you hold
everything in place with a thought. This
life is about not taking our lives for granted here, but thanking you for providing
us with the elements and light which sustain us each and every day. This life is about honoring how you have finely
tuned the balance of life on this earth and how you have placed us here to be the
caretakers of your beautiful garden.
We marvel at your ability to breathe life into each of the creatures
that you have placed upon this earth, from the smallest of organisms to the
largest of mammals.
Oh Father, you are far superior to us in your wisdom and in
your grace, and yet you are mindful of us.You shower your love upon the ones who worship you, the ones who trust
in you, and the ones who acknowledge your almighty power.
But foolish are those people who refuse to admit that you
are a living, breathing God.Foolish are
they for wanting to live their lives without you, Father. Why would they not want to be close to you? Why would they not desire to feel the peace that
only you can give, when the trials of this world start to overtake them? They prefer not to ask for your guidance when
they do not know which path to choose. When
their burdens become too heavy to carry, they struggle, trying to carry these
heavy weights by themselves, not even thinking to ask you for help.
Foolish are they for refusing your kindness, and for pushing
you away when you desire to wipe away their tears.Foolish are they for not wanting to believe
in you, and for not desiring to praise you and worship you for your perfect
ways.Dear Father, there are so many
people dwelling in spiritual poverty who miss out on your most beautiful facet,
which is your precious and undying love.
There was a time that I was quite foolish too, Father.Thinking I didn't need any help on this earthly
journey. But you beckoned me back to you
and I returned like a prodigal daughter. For traveling this journey alone, without you, was wrought with fear,
trepidation, worry, uncertainty, isolation, and a terrible loneliness. But now as I travel you are by my side, my
hand is in yours, and I know that, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a
light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105)
Dear Father, I thank you for your gift of a believing heart
and the strength and courage I need to travel with you and your Son on this earthly
journey.
Love always,
Deborah
EARLY MORNING SONGS
OF PRAISE
Dear Father God,
This sleepy state is trying to keep me from welcoming the
new day, exerting its powerful influence, wrestling with my eyelids to keep
them shut. But never mind, no matter
what the cause that keeps this body from desiring to break out of its sleep, I
will press on and leave this comfortable bed whether my sleepy eyes agree to it
or not.For this is the only time during
the day when all is still, and there are no prior commitments tugging me away
from your side, my Lord.
Let me again, before the sun awakens, listen for the sound
of your voice, dear Father God.Let me
be still, that I might hear you speaking in the pre-dawn hours.
Shortly before 6 AM
your tiny carolers are just starting to stir, led by the song of one brave
little sparrow.Just now his song has broken
up the quiet of the rapidly dissipating darkness.Another tiny caroler joins in the little
sparrow's chorus, now both heralding in, with their joyous refrain, the
precious gift of another new day from You, dear Father.
Although my song is not as melodic as the joyful
orchestrations of these tiny birds at dawn, I too sing praises to your name
with my paper and pen. I thank you
Father for another new day to speak to you, and for another new day to draw closer
to you while on this earthly journey. I
thank you Father for the awareness of you, for I see your hand helping me and
guiding me each and every day.
Thank you, Father God, for the knowledge of you, for you
have taught me so much about your ways, and your desires for your children, through
your sword of the truth and your book of remembrance.Thank you Father for being so patient with me
as you teach me how to be a daughter of the Most High God.Thank you for teaching me that to be faithful
I must keep knocking on all the doors that you set before me.For it is only then that I will find the one
door that will open up to the destiny you so carefully planned out for me long
ago.
And I thank you, Father, for watching over me and for lifting
me up with a gentle kiss and a loving embrace, when this worldly life causes me
to fall.
Love always,
Deborah
IT'S OKAY TO MAKE
MISTAKES IF WE LEARN FROM THEM
Dear Father God,
We all err, we all stumble, while traveling on the narrow
road that teaches us to become more like your Son, Jesus. We often fail to measure up to your expectations
for our lives and are not as disciplined as we should be in living a life of
sacrifice and obedience to your holy Word.
However, Father, You have taught us not to moan and wring
our hands this way and that when we sin or fall short of the mark you have set
for us.Nor are we to beat ourselves up emotionally
until a spirit of inferiority takes us over. What we need to do first is to repent before You and Your Son for our
mistakes. Then we are to pick up the
pieces, set our sights forward, and start over again, making a point to do it
right the next time. For if we learn
from our mistakes, those mistakes will not have been in vain, but will have
been fruitful in teaching us how to do things the right way.If we are sincere and truly remorseful in our
repentance and continue to walk on your path in dedication and faithfulness, then
Father, your forgiveness is forthcoming to renew our repentant and sorrowful
hearts.
My Lord, your patience with our wayward tendencies is truly unmatched
by any other. You know the underlying
causes for all of our weaknesses and strengths and why we do the things we
do.You know how each of our individual
personalities were formed, and can readily predict what we will do in each situation
you set before us.You are the only one
who understands why we feel the way we do, for you have watched us grow up
since day one and know every detail of our lives.
Your plan is to mold us and shape us in order that we may be
perfected in your eyes as sons and daughters of the Most High.At times this makeover is painful and
uncomfortable, as you lead us in the opposite direction from which the world
has led us all our lives.Your hands are
like that of a potter as you sand and smooth out the rough spots that worldly ways
have etched upon our souls, thereby transforming us into vessels of a meek and
humble demeanor.Your desire is that we
develop inner strength and courage for the purpose of delivering your truth to
a world that often refuses to listen.
If we truly desire to obey and honor your name, draw closer
to you, do our best to please you, and walk in the righteousness that you
teach, you faithfully nourish us with your spiritual refreshment from on
high.
My Lord, we praise you and glorify Your name! For you are the Great Physician, healing our
souls of the earthly wounds and scars. You painstakingly desire to make us over so that one day we would be
pristine enough to join the ranks of the beautiful angels who minister to you.
Love,
Deborah
BECOMING PART OF THE BRIDE OF JESUS
A child once immersed in the wilderness way,
A daughter once lost in the fighting and the fray.
Her many tears and sorrows to her coatsleaves clinging,
Fear and lack of confidence still painfully lingering.
Like a little lamb lost in a hostile field,
Her destiny had been stifled, locked up and securely sealed.
Then suddenly the one, who brought her to this land,
Removed her from this wilderness and led her by the hand.
To the place of red roses where summer breezes blow,
Where sunbeams warm your toes and broken vessels grow.
It was the God of all Creation, the Lord of eternal love,
He’s her Savior and Protector who lives in the sky above.
Now she’s slowly healing of the wounds that hurt her so,
While her Father God speaks to her of the place she will one day go.
A place where tears of sadness will never more descend,
A place where fears and worries will never appear again.
The most beautiful gift of all is His only Son to wed.
Who atoned for mankind's sins, that's why on the cross He bled.
The Savior named Jesus, Son of the Lord God and Father above
Will make her His bride forever and they will live in eternal love.
For this loving God will give His most precious love, His Son, Jesus, as a
token of His love for His faithful children.
