A Poem about Today
I prayed to God, but not for long, For I had too much to do. I needed to hurry, to finish My work, For My bills were long overdue. So I knelt and said a prayer to God, Then I jumped up off My knees. My Christian duty was now complete; My soul could rest at ease. Everyday, I never made the time, To spread God’s words of cheer. I did not speak to any souls, Who were hungry and in fear. I made no time for God each day,
There was just too much to do. No time to help the souls in need. No time to make them new.
But when it was My time to die, I went before the Lord.
I came and stood with downcast eyes, While He opened His little book. This book Id never seen before,
The names inside were few. Then God looked up and said to Me, "Where were you when I needed you.” ”Where were you when I called you,
To be My shining light.”
“Where were you when I asked you,
To help Me make things right.”
“Therefore, you did not earn your place,
And I will not set you free,” ”For even though you prayed your words,
You never really knew Me.”
Now do you have the time to pass this truthful poem on?
If you live in your own little world you may think it’s safe and secure.
You may think that all of your friends know you, and love you just the way you are.
However, there’s a big world out there that needs your testimony, your love, your patience, and your story about God and His Son, Jesus.
So give your testimony, love, patience, and story today.
Make a difference for God and His Son.
Give a portion of your time and your wealth to the many lost and dying souls who need it, before it’s too late.
Remember, if you keep looking at what you do not have in your life, you may not ever have anything worthwhile to talk about.
However, if you try to look at the positive and insightful things that God has shown you and taught you in your life, you may have everything you need to receive a place with God and His Son, Jesus.
READ THE FIRST LINE CAREFULLY. .
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. Therefore, in your happy moments, praise God. In your difficult moments, seek God. In your quiet moments, worship God. In your painful moments, trust God. In every moment of every day, learn to thank God and His Son, Jesus.
