THE STORY OF TWO TRAVELING ANGELS
Two traveling angels first stopped to spend the night
in the home of a wealthy family.
The family was rude and refused to let the angels
stay in the mansion's guest room.
Instead the angels were given a small space in
the cold basement.
As they made their bed on the hard floor, the
older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.
When the younger angel asked why, the older angel
replied,
"Things aren't always what they seem."
The next night the pair came to rest at the house
of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his
wife.
After sharing what little food they had the couple
let the angels sleep in their bed, where they could
have a good night's rest.
When the sun came up the next morning the angels
found the farmer and his wife in tears.
Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole
income, lay dead in the field.
The younger angel was perplexed and asked the
older angel how this could have happened to this
nice, hospitable, poor couple?
The younger angel said, The first man had
everything, yet you helped him, by fixing the hole
in his wall.
However, the second family had very little, but
they were willing to share everything with us,
therefore, why did you let their cow die?
"Things aren't always what they seem," the older
angel replied.
"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion I
noticed there was gold stored in the hole in the
wall.
Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and
unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the
wall up and now he won’t be able to find this
gold."
"Then last night as we slept in the farmer’s bed,
the angel of death came for the poor farmer’s
wife. However, I gave this angel of death
the farmer's cow instead.
Therefore, things aren't always what they seem."
The moral of this story is:
Sometimes when things do not turn out the
way they should, you must have faith and belief
in God, and His Son, Jesus. Then you will be able
to overcome all of your problems.
There will be times you will need to trust in God that
He will give you an advantage in all of your troubles
and trials on this earth. If you truly know and respect
God and His Son, Jesus, this will not be hard for you.
However, there will be times you will not be able to
know what God is accomplishing in your life until later
on when you look back at how He has led your steps.

Yesterday is our history with God.
Tomorrow is a mystery with Him.
However, God has given us the gift of life to pursue.
That's why it is called His present to us!
We at Jacob's House think this is special look at
God... Therefore, live and savor every
moment of your life here on this earth.
For this is not a dress rehearsal with God!
You are to build a good foundation for Him and His
Son, Jesus, while you are here.
