HOW TO GET INTO HEAVEN
A man died and St. Peter met him at the Pearly Gates of Heaven.
St. Peter said to him, "Here's how you get into Heaven.
You need 100 points in your life to make it through the Pearly Gates that Jesus maintains.
Therefore, tell me all the good things you've done in your life.
I will give you a certain number of points for each of them,
depending on how righteous they were.
When you reach 100 points, I’ll inform Jesus, and He will let you into Heaven.
"Okay," the man said,
"I was married to the same woman for 50 years
and I never cheated on her, even in my heart."
"That is wonderful," said St. Peter, "that's worth three points!"
"Only three points?" he said.
St. Peter said, “That’s correct.”
"Well, I attended church all of my life
and I supported the ministry there with my tithes, offerings, and services."
"Terrific!" said St. Peter. "That's certainly worth a point."
"Only one point!?!!" said the man. St. Peter said, "Only one point for that, but tell me more."
"I started a soup kitchen in my city and I worked in a shelter
for the homeless veterans."
"That’s fantastic!” said St. Peter, “that's good for two more points."
The exasperated man cried, "I only get two points for all that!?!!”
"Why at this rate the only way I'll get into Heaven
is by the grace of God."
"Bingo,” said St. Peter, “You now have your 100 points and by God’s loving kindness and mercy you will be let in by His only Son, Jesus.
The moral of this story is God does not need us, WE NEED HIM.
Therefore, it is time for all of us to have faith and belief in our Creator and His Son, Jesus.
