My Dear Sweet Father God,

A gentle touch, a fragrant flower, a rain drop falling on a crimson leaf, each one a remembrance, each one a minute essence of who you are.

Thoughts are scattered, ideas flow within reach, and then out to an elusive sea of dreams and imaginings, constantly moving like the pulsating rhythm of the ocean's tides.

All the while I try to capture only the ripest and most tender words, words that will drawn you in, words that will wrap themselves around the sinews of your heart.  For only the choicest expressions of love, like fine cultured pearls, are meant to be sent to you, my Dear Father.

The goal is to locate the secret longings, the heartfelt desires, and all the unspoken missing you's, then translate them into words of beauty and elegance for your ears.

But these newly formed compositions of endearment for you, play tricks on me and hide in the unseen places of my brain.  When I escort them out before they are ready to be birthed, they emerge immature and unseasoned as if written by a young child.

But when no one is looking, Dear Father, they jump out of their hiding places with an air of confidence, expertise, and accomplishment, exhibiting a beauty, a wit, a charm, and an experienced air about them that cannot be duplicated.

This vision that You have placed within me is like a letter of love I place under my pillow at night:

A young girl of about 9 years old is running up a narrow winding path.  At the end of this path is her Father, his arms extended wide, and ready to pick her up in a loving embrace.  As this young girl draws closer to her Father, her heart starts to pound as she sees his arms outstretched towards her.

The time has finally come for her to be embraced by the Father who has watched her grow, the one who was always there and comforted her when there was no one else there to dry her tears.

Finally she is going to be in the arms of the Father who rescued her from the world and its lies, its pain, and its deceitful practices.

"My Father!" she cries, "My Dear Father!"

Finally she is going to be able to hug the Father who has taught her about his heavenly ways guiding her, instructing her, and teaching her how to be his daughter.  For he has adopted her into his eternal family, forgiving her of all her sins and iniquities.

"My Father!" she calls out.

Finally she is going to be able to thank in person the Father who has found her a husband, who is actually an angel in disguise.  For through her husband's voice her Father's words are sent out through the whole world.

Finally this girl is in reach of her Father's arms, who picks her up and swings her around, and the joy and love that is in her heart upon being in the arms of her first love, cannot be measured.

For several years, Dear Father God, this same scene, which you have placed in my thoughts has been a comfort to me.  I see this vision, and hold onto the hope that one day it may truly happen and I will find myself caught up in your loving arms.

My Father, how can I not adore you, how could I ever leave your side?

For all that you are to me, for all that you have taught me, and all of the love that you have sent to me so sweetly, I anxiously await your return.  For setting me straight when I was out of your will, and for not giving up on this once terribly lost sheep, I adore you and love you with all my heart and soul.

Your loving daughter,

Deborah

Dear Father,

You know Your faithful children so well. You know them from the time before their birth, up until their dying day, and beyond. You know their faults and their weaknesses, and You are aware of every thought that enters into their minds. You have a specific destiny laid out for each one of Your called and chosen children on this earth. You have given them the talents and attributes that they will need to further Your wealth and glory upon this earth. You take note of all of the things that each one of them accomplish in their lives, as well as reminding them of the things that they have yet to complete for You and Your Son.

Dear Father, You are faithful in attending to Your children’s needs as they grow up and as they become more mature in Your ways. You take time to nourish their souls, and try to keep them from straying from the path that You have chosen for them. You are able to tell Your faithful children how their personalities were formed and why they act the way they do. You are a devoted Father, always there for Your faithful ones and ready to cheer them up if they are having a bad day. Dear Father You are most tender and gentle to the children that love you, for You send Your angels of the light down from heaven to watch over them and protect them.

On occasion, it's been reported, Father God, that You may whisper in the ear of a small child to walk over to one of Your faithful children who might be having a difficult day, and give them a hug and kiss for You. If that faithful son or daughter has a close relationship with You, they will know that it was Your love they received through that little child. They will also know that You want to reassure them of Your presence in their lives, and that they can always call on You whenever they are in need.

As I travel the road that leads to You, My Lord, I thank you for your abiding love. I thank you for the opportunity to know you so much better through your words of yesterday and today. I thank you for being so patient with me and for not giving up on me when all I knew was the physical world and all of its alluring sights and sounds. Now after coming to know You dear Father, I could not imagine a life without You and Your Son, Jesus. I could not imagine living on this earth without Your still small voice to guide me and teach me Your ways. For You have taken me by the hand and led me down the path, which has always been the path that You had meant for me to follow for Your glory.

Dear Father, as I continue to follow Your will for my life, I will never feel alone again for I know that You will always by my side until the end of time and beyond.

Love You dearly,

Deborah

REMEMBERING MY PRECIOUS GOD AND HIS SON JESUS.

My Lord Jesus, so faithful and so dear,

He’s watched over me for many a year.

Though for much of my life I thought I was alone,

But that was not true, looking back as I’ve grown.

While still a small baby in a crib made of wood,

He would comfort and hold me when no one else could.

Though my eyes could not see Him when’er He was near,

I knew of His presence, when He wiped away each tear.

Growing up in a household of conflict and strife,

Security and confidence were not part of my life.

Being made to feel inferior, defective, and plain,

Always told I was wrong, and my mind was to blame.

I ran from life’s challenges, convinced that I would fail

If given a new task, I’d tremble and turn pale.

I Labored over decisions, was too nervous to make a choice,

So afraid to be wrong and punished by an angry voice.

That was the way life used to be for me,

My struggles to survive, the Truth I could not see.

The Lord then rescued me and changed everything around,

He mended this broken vessel, and put me on solid ground.

I called for God’s Spirit to be energized in me,

I lifted up my hands and prayed on bended knees.

Then suddenly His Spirit within me began to sound,

And I knew that this lost sheep, had once again been found

A new life began with the Lord by my side

A new person emerged from the old self that died.

It’s taken many years for this changing to take place,

But the Lord is quite patient in His mercy and His grace.

Though this process of renewal, is not completely done,

My life’s improved greatly on this journey with God’s Son.

I see the Lord’s blessings in every step I take,

And if ever I should lose Him, my heart and soul would break.

He tells me not to fall apart if someone yells at me.

They could be ill or angry at something else, you see.

He nudges me to use my gifts and search to find myself

For gifts from God are meant to be used, not placed upon a shelf.

To speak before a group of adults would have frightened me far beyond measure.

But now that I’m a teacher for the Lord, speaking is a delight and a pleasure.

So when worry, fear, and trepidation attempt to ruin my day

I pray to the Lord in heaven above and He washes it all away.

Never could I live my life, the way it used to be.

Without the Lord to guide me, would be like being lost at sea.

The Lord is wise and knows all things, beyond our comprehension.

For this I need His hand to hold for His counsel, love, and protection.

To attract the Lord’s attention, the following are a must:

Perseverance, discipline, faith, and lots of trust.

Tune out all worldly chatter, read the Bible with lots of care,

And follow God’s instructions that He’s carefully outlined there.

If ever you should falter, don’t let the devil near,

Don’t listen to the lies that he whispers in your ear,

Come closer to the Lord, and repent for heaven’s sake,

Then Jesus will abide with you and show you the path to take

Pray on bended knees every morning and every night,

Sing praises to the Lord, and love Him with all your might.

Live your life for Him alone, throw away your worldly desires,

He always knows what’s best for you, so to His will, aspire!

Dear Father God,

Teach my heart to know the sound of Your voice,

As the turtle doves sing their early morning songs.

Make quiet the chatter and noise of this world

That plays without end, of many trivial matters.

For Your words, not mine, are the ones I must follow,

Your plans and desires, are the ones I need to know

Show me Your will that speaks of life everlasting

Transform me forever by the beauty of Your love.

Teach me to live by the Spirit You put inside me,

Telling all Your children of the nearness of Your visit.

Immerse me without end in Your Words of cooling waters

Reviving and renewing my parched and thirsty soul.
