Dear Father,
Though blurry eyes cannot see as clearly as they should
We've been trying so hard, trying to be efficient and good
With each little chore and task that comes our way
The motivation to complete them, we truly hope will stay
Though mistakes arise to tackle us and cause us to frown
Your voice always speaks, “Don't let this get you down”
Though the evil one tries to shove me in the wilderness direction
I continue to pursue Your path, striving for Your holy perfection
I thank you for Your encouragement and understanding voice
That speaks to my heart, that I do truly have a choice
To either let emotions continue their hold upon my soul
Or let calm and serenity always be my ultimate goal
For with faith in You and Your plans for our lives
And with peace as our motto, with You we will thrive
So give those emotions an eternal rest
Then listen for God's voice, and you'll subsequently be blessed
You'll find peaceful waters where there once was strife
And happiness will settle in, and put smiles in your life
So you know we're not perfect, nor do everything right
Just learn to accept this, and your future will be bright
Learn from the mistakes you've made along this road
And follow God's instructions to lighten your load
Don't let negative thoughts bring on anxiety and stress
Just focus on the Lord's embrace and He'll put your soul at rest.

MY JOURNEY UNFINISHED
Dear Father God,
My love for You, dear Father God, is blossoming once again
As a tulip spreading its petals beneath the morning sun.
A tender love, a heartfelt love, once lost beneath the surface.
Held captive by the sorrows from all those years gone by.
Joyful is my heart, for my love for You grows daily
Breaking up the fears, now subsided from their drenching.
Beams of light cascading through the dissipating darkness.
Calling all Your children with Your words of truthful and unending love.
Your Spirit living within is my strength to overcome
Chasing out the worldly ways that occupied my senses
Your healing hand I feel upon my worried and wrinkled brow.
Diminishing the problems that have plagued me for so long.

I pray for the strength of Your angels to fight off those burly bears
Riding me with tides of fear, overtaking my peaceful state.
Putting me in bondage with worries that won’t go away.
Blocking out my thoughts of You, even though I want You to stay.
But for now the seeds of devotion are thriving once again.
The life You placed inside me is soaring on wings of hope.
Making plans for a life of purpose to achieve Your heavenly desires
Using all my strength to travel on the road that leads to You.
I feel Your Spirit of passion reviving my sleeping soul
Helping me to scale the cliffs of the highest mountain You hold so dear
Bringing me to the holy place where Your love and mercy abounds
Where the peace You give, like kisses of love, mends my broken heart.

Continuing on this Journey that Leads Me Closer to You
I continue on this journey along this earthen path that draws me ever closer to You, Father God and to Jesus,Your Son.
That I might always dwell in Your palatial peace, which now so fleetingly comes and goes.
That I might feel the touch of Your hand when all the world is slumbering and every creature is at rest.
For I desire to be encircled by the continuing scroll that You have delivered to this world, that my life would be saturated by Your Holy Word.
That I might be courted by dreams of being held in Your powerful embrace and immersed in Your love without end.
For no castles do I desire to live in, nor any stately residences do I aspire to inhabit.
For all that is in my heart is to be a handmaiden to You, My dear Lord.
To bring You my smiles, my kisses, and my eternal devotion, as I compose for You sonnets and heart felt love songs.
For always know that You are my only one true love, my dear sweet Father God and Jesus, Your Son.

DEBORAH’S POEM TO GOD
He’s a Father who supplies each one of our needs,
Before we can verbalize a single request.
Since the day of our birth He’s planned for us to be
Walking His road and doing our best.
He’s placed in our bodies many talents from above.
But on worries from the world, we must not ever fret,
That’s where the devil hides the gifts from our God
In emotional strongholds clear up to our necks.
Place not your focus on the world that you see.
For the Lord is guiding you each and every day.
Living through His Spirit is how we are to be,
For following God’s lead is always the better way.
Our Father from above is like no other that’s ever been.
If you love and obey Him, He’ll never leave your side.
On His merciful loving heart, in your weakness you can lean.
He’ll comfort and protect you, while He tames the incoming tide.
He’s a Father who is there for you, when’er His name you call
Upon Himself He’ll place your fears, if you put them in his hands,
Just put your faith and trust in Him, to catch you if you fall
He makes things right and keeps you safe wherever you happen to land
Depend on the Lord, for with His help, you can do so many things.
Believe in Jesus, God’s only Son, who will strengthen you in strife.
Just cry out your heart in prayer to Him, and He’ll lift you on angel’s wings.
Walk close beside Him, and let Him lead you all the days of your life.

TO MY PRECIOUS LORD AND FATHER GOD
All I have to do is remember that You, precious Lord and Father, are all around me.
I can see Your footprints leading me along the pathway that You have so carefully mapped out for me.
I can see the evidence of Your breath in the frosty winter air.
I can feel the touch of Your loving hands on mine when I pretend that I'm dancing with You in the moonlight.
I recognize Your voice speaking through other people, beckoning me to follow You on this earthly journey.
And when I am sorrowful and in need of Your embrace, all I have to do is get down on my knees and tell You what is in my heart.
Then I listen for Your precious still small voice, speaking to me deep within my soul.

Testifying
Dear Father,
Just a short note today before the dawn is whisked away:
A recollection of the prayer softly spoken in the early morning light,
Quietly whispering of my love eternal as You sat beside me at our garden site.
You delivered a revelation that awoke my sleepy brain
As to why I was so excited to praise You, and speak Your name
At the Bible study, on Thursday morning, during the misty autumn rain.
My spirit became so excited during the discussion of Your ways,
A feeling that rarely discends upon me, but maybe once in a thousand days.
You showed me it was not worldly pursuits onto which my joy embarks.
Nor do they prompt my soul to sing spontaneously in the park.
It is only in the light of Your presence my God, that transports my soul out of the dark.
It is the nearness of You, while traveling this path, that brings joy to my lonely heart.
It is hearing those claps of thunder, knowing it's You, just moving about,
It is the Your letters of love, cascading from above, that bring me peace, without a doubt.
It is the things that You've taught us that the world does not see,
It is the rhythm of Your heartbeat reflected in the sea.
It is the energy of Your Spirit living deep inside of me,
It the testifying about You, my Lord, which represents life's happiness key.
